If you have questions for me before you make an appointment, no worries! Either use the button to email me or call 612-702-9571. I photograph for over 100 different artists working in different mediums with varying skill and technical comfort levels.

I’m happy to answer questions from what I can photograph to what you need to provide printers or competition submissions. I grew up in a print shop and worked for a large scanning company. I’m also a recovering landscape plein air painter and am currently a print & website designer.

I’m located in Uptown, between Lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles. Just 3 blocks West of Lunds & The Uptown Theater. I have a reserved parking spot right by the door that you can use.

Parking

All work is by appointment only! Please contact me to schedule.
There’s a place to park behind my building. 2886 James Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55408
From Lagoon Ave, enter the alley just past James Ave.
The spot is on the right, 2nd building; in front of the wood fence with the black & orange “No Parking” sign.
Don’t worry about the No Parking sign, that spot is for my customers, I put up the sign.
My place is the red brick old apartment building, the address is just above the back door.

If there’s someone in the spot or you’re not a fan of parallel parking, just stop in the alley, it’s ok.

Give me a call or text when you are here or nearby and I’ll come out to meet you & bring in the paintings.

I’ve tried to photograph my own work for years, and it never worked well. I couldn’t get the painting square, neither the color nor the detail could be captured properly, and they were barely usable for my portfolio and website.
I’ve also used professional scans of my paintings. While these turned out better than my personal photographs, details were often lost, the color wasn’t always accurate, and I had issues with banding when producing prints.
I’ve used several professional photographers that specialize in art documentation, including at local museums. None have come close to capturing the amount of detail and accuracy that Mitch achieves with his photographs.
