Art Fairs in the Twin Cities: 2027 Guide for Artists and Visitors

Minneapolis and St. Paul are home to one of the most active art fair scenes in the Midwest. The Twin Cities arts community is nationally recognized, and the calendar reflects it, from large juried fairs drawing hundreds of artists from across the country to neighborhood events with a local, community-centered feel. The 2026 outdoor season has wrapped, so this guide now covers 2027: April through November, across Minneapolis, St. Paul and the wider region, including Edina, Stillwater, Lakeville, Red Wing and Hudson, WI. Dates marked “expected” follow each fair’s usual weekend and will be confirmed as organizers post them. If you’re an artist, the timing matters even more than the dates: most of these fairs take applications between December and May, months before the first booth goes up. Professionally photographed artwork is an advantage at both ends. It’s what the jury sees when you apply, and it’s what your prints are made from when you sell.

Art Attack at the Northrup King Building

Dates: November 13–15, 2026 (Friday 5–9pm, Saturday noon–8pm, Sunday noon–5pm) Location: Northrup King Building, 1500 Jackson St NE, Minneapolis, MN The Northrup King Building’s fall open studio weekend opens all four floors of the largest arts complex in the Midwest, with hundreds of artists in their working studios, live demonstrations, food trucks, and plenty of chances to start your holiday shopping with original work. When to Apply: 2027 Art Fair Application Calendar

Most Twin Cities fairs are juried, and most take applications through ZAPPlication. Here’s roughly when each one opens or closes, based on last year’s cycle unless noted. Deadlines shift a little from year to year, so check each fair’s site before you apply.

• Early December: Edina Art Fair applications open (closed in early March last year)
• January: Red Wing Arts Fall Festival applications open
• February 1: Fall Into the Arts applications open
• Late February: Powderhorn Art Fair deadline
• March 1, 2027: Join or renew NEMAA to be included in the printed Art-A-Whirl guide
• Early March: Edina Art Fair deadline
• Mid-March: Loring Park Art Festival deadline
• March 26, 2027: Minnehaha Falls Art Fair deadline (as currently listed)
• Late March: Stone Arch Bridge Festival deadline
• May 1:Rivertown Fall Art Festival deadline
• Early May: Lakeville Art Festival deadline, and Minnesota State Fair Fine Arts registration typically opens

Most applications ask for four or five images of your work, and several also require a booth shot. Jurors score those images, often in a few seconds each, so the photographs are your application. Spring Art Events – Twin Cities 2027

St. Paul Art Crawl

Dates: Expected three weekends in April 2027 Location: Studios and galleries across St. Paul The longest-running art crawl in the country, produced by the St. Paul Art Collective since 1991. More than 300 artists open their studios and galleries across 30+ locations, with each weekend covering a different part of the city, from Lowertown and the West Side to Como and the East Side. Art-A-Whirl

Dates: May 14–16, 2027 (Friday 5–10pm, Saturday noon–8pm, Sunday noon–5pm) Location: Northeast Minneapolis The largest open studio tour in the country, held the third weekend of May. More than 1,600 NEMAA member artists, galleries and businesses take part at 100+ locations throughout Northeast Minneapolis, with demos, live music and the neighborhood’s breweries and restaurants filling in between studios. Summer Art Fairs – Twin Cities 2027

Edina Art Fair

Dates: June 4–6, 2027 Location: 50th & France, Edina, MN The 60th anniversary of Minnesota’s longest-running art fair. More than 250 juried artists are selected from roughly 600 applicants and fill the streets of the 50th & France district, with live music stages, a Kids Zone, and an Emerging Artist Zone for first-time exhibitors. Stone Arch Bridge Festival

Dates: June 19–20, 2027 (Father’s Day weekend) Location: Minneapolis Riverfront, Minneapolis, MN More than 200 artists and culinary artists along nearly a mile of the Mississippi riverfront, with live music, art demonstrations and a classic car show. One of the largest festivals in Minneapolis, with average attendance around 75,000. Stone Arch Bridge Festival website

Minnehaha Falls Art Fair

Dates: July 16–18, 2027 Location: Minnehaha Falls Park, Minneapolis, MN Three days and 180+ artist booths woven through one of Minneapolis’s most scenic parks, steps from the falls. There’s live music at the pavilion, food trucks, and the Vintage & Funky Fest across the bridge. Artists voted it the second-best art fair in Minnesota in Sunshine Artist’s national rankings. Loring Park Art Festival

Dates: Expected late July 2027 (usually the last full weekend in July) Location: Loring Park, Minneapolis, MN More than 150 juried visual artists set up around Loring Park’s gardens and pond, with live music and stage performances throughout both days. A centrally located fair with a consistently strong roster, regularly listed among Sunshine Artist’s top 100 fine art shows. Loring Park Art Festival website

Powderhorn Art Fair

Dates: Expected August 7–8, 2027 (always the first weekend in August) Location: Powderhorn Park, Minneapolis, MN The 36th annual fair brings 200+ juried artists to Powderhorn Park in South Minneapolis, one of the larger community-rooted fairs in the city, with 20+ food trucks, live music and a Community & Youth Showcase for neighborhood and young artists. Uptown Art Fair

Dates: Expected August 6–8, 2027 (traditionally the first full weekend in August) Location: Uptown, Minneapolis, MN (2027 site to be announced) One of the region’s best-known fairs returned to Uptown in 2026 with a new setting along Lake of the Isles Parkway, with roughly 300 juried artists from across the country, live entertainment and family programming. Art in the Garden – Minnesota Landscape Arboretum

Dates: Expected mid-August 2027 Location: Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, 3675 Arboretum Drive, Chaska, MN The Arboretum’s outdoor art and craft showcase brings 70+ local vendors, from fine art and crafts to culinary, into the gardens, with live music on the weekend. Included with general Arboretum admission (free for members). A distinctive setting with no close equivalent on the metro fair calendar. Art in the Garden website

Minnesota State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition

Dates: August 26 – September 6, 2027 Location: Minnesota State Fairgrounds, St. Paul, MN The juried Fine Arts Exhibition shows work by Minnesota artists across painting, sculpture, photography and more for all 12 days of the fair. One of the few places to see competition-level Minnesota work, alongside nearly 2 million other fairgoers. Fall Art Fairs – Twin Cities and Surrounding Area 2027

The fall season carries the calendar through October, with events in Edina, St. Louis Park, Lakeville, Hudson WI, Stillwater, Red Wing and Savage. Several of these are among the less crowded fairs in the region, worth putting on the calendar if you want a calmer day with serious art.

Fall Into the Arts Festival

Dates: Expected mid-September 2027 Location: Centennial Lakes Park, Edina, MN A two-day fall fair at Centennial Lakes Park in Edina, featuring juried artists, live music and food vendors in a landscaped park setting along the water. Free admission. Fall Into the Arts Festival website

St. Louis Park Art Fair

Date: Expected mid-September 2027 Location: Recreation Outdoor Center (ROC), St. Louis Park, MN A one-day, community-focused fair with 90+ local artists and makers, food trucks, live music, art demos and family activities. Lakeville Art Festival

Dates: Expected September 18–19, 2027 (always the third weekend in September) Location: Lakeville Area Arts Center, 20965 Holyoke Ave, Lakeville, MN The 24th annual festival brings about 100 juried artists to the park-like grounds of the Lakeville Area Arts Center, in an easy-to-walk circle of booths. Media include ceramics, painting, fiber, glass, jewelry, photography and printmaking. Its emerging artist program provides a tent and waives the booth fee for artists new to outdoor fairs. Spirit of the St. Croix Art Festival

Dates: Expected late September 2027 Location: Lakefront Park, Hudson, WI Eighty-plus juried artists at Lakefront Park in Hudson, Wisconsin, 30 minutes east of St. Paul across the St. Croix River. Organized by the Phipps Center for the Arts with the Hudson Chamber of Commerce, with artist demos, live music and food on the riverbank. Rivertown Fall Art Festival

Dates: Expected October 2–3, 2027 (the first weekend in October) Location: Lowell Park, Downtown Stillwater, MN The 50th annual festival, drawing 10,000+ visitors to Lowell Park along the St. Croix River in historic downtown Stillwater. Around 200 artisans show ceramics, painting, jewelry, glass, fiber, photography and more. With peak color in the St. Croix Valley, it’s one of the better backdrops for an outdoor fair in the state. Red Wing Arts Fall Festival

Dates: Expected October 9–10, 2027 (the second weekend in October) Location: Downtown Red Wing, MN The 61st annual juried festival brings 120 regional artists to historic downtown Red Wing, about 50 miles southeast of the metro along the Mississippi. Painting, ceramics, fiber, jewelry, glass, photography and printmaking, with live music at Central Park all weekend. A good reason to make the drive. Red Wing Arts Fall Festival website

Savage Area Arts Festival

Date: Expected October 2027 Location: Community Park, 13500 Dakota Avenue, Savage, MN A one-day community art fair featuring local painters, jewelers, ceramicists, fiber artists and other makers. Free, family-friendly, and a good example of the smaller fairs that run alongside the bigger fall events. Savage Area Arts Festival website
