Jon Burns is a Minnesota Atelier-trained oil painter.

“I am an artist based in Cottage Grove Minnesota.  Originally I started out in the Horticulture industry working for Bailey Nurseries.  Later I decided to become an art apprentice and began studying at The Ateleir Studio Program of Fine Art in Minneapolis. It is there that I learned the skills of Classical realism.  This is the same type of training that was done by the old masters.  I enjoy painting many subjects but have recently on still life and landscape painting.  I do plan to expand into other subject matter as I grow as an artist.  My artistic goal is to capture the beauty of light and composition in my own way to share with the rest of the world.”
